The Transition House
The Program
This is an individualized transformative program that sees success through trained mentors/life coaches that provide scaffolding tailored to meet each individuals’ talents, abilities, and compensatory skills. Individual counseling and groups, in collaboration with family and friends, cultivate lasting friendships and support that weather the storms of life.
Objective
To create a transitional living program for young adult men, 18+, who need a strong and structured living environment while learning the skills they need to navigate their transition to the “real world” of post-secondary education and employment.
Meet our Life Coach
Colby grew up in Layton, Utah and has been a life coach at Live Strong House since 2019. He was married in 2020 to his wife Yanibah and started managing the Transition House program in 2023. Colby and his wife are both studying Social Work at Weber State University. Colby enjoys playing basketball, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife.

The Home
Our transition house is a supportive and nurturing environment designed to facilitate personal growth and engagement with peers and community. The adult program in the transition house is managed by a married couple who live in the home with a maximum of 6 students, ages 18+.
The home provides both shared and single bedrooms for students, with shared bathrooms. The family-like environment is designed for our young adults to learn the independent living skills appropriate for their age, along with managing the responsibility of peer relationships and the family community within the home.
Responsibilities
Residents are expected to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the home. This includes participating in weekly deep cleaning sessions to ensure a clean and healthy living environment. Additionally, students take turns planning preparing meals to learn and reinforce needed life skills to move on successfully after Live Strong House.
Our transition home is more than just a place to stay; it is a community and family-like environment designed for individuals to support each other on their journey to self-improvement and empowerment. By sharing responsibilities and living together in a structured environment, students develop valuable life skills that contribute to their overall well-being and success.
